Going with God

“Go with God” has a whole new dimension of meaning when one travels, laden with gifts from God’s people, to bless God’s people in another part of the world. Even more so when the gifts are for abandoned children with no other means of support. And, such is our blessing again this Christmas.

We departed from Tulsa on Friday, December 19 and, after 28 hours of travel time, we arrived just after midnight (local time—CST + 8 hours) on Monday, December 21. God’s hand was on us and all of our travel, though slowed by some snow, was as uneventful as one can hope for.

We flew United from Tulsa to Chicago and Lufthansa the rest of the way. United has a new policy and no longer allows the clerks at the baggage counter to make decisions re: baggage overages. We presented letters from our sending church and from REMM’s board president stating that the bags were filled with gifts for the needy and personal contents were extremely limited, but to no avail. In the end, we were required to pay $1,200 for our extra bags (we were 4 travelers with 13 bags to check). If you would like to donate to the ministry to help absorb this extra, unexpected expense (we’ve NEVER had to pay for bag overages since we’ve begun working with REMM and we’ve always had extra bags) please visit
www.remm-ministry.org and click on the “donate now” button on the home page.

It is our great privilege to represent Christ; our home church, First Presbyterian Church, Tulsa; and all who have so graciously given us the financial support we need to do this work in Romania. And for
all of you who pray for us, thank you! God hears and is able to do exceedingly abundantly more than we could ask or imagine.

We thank you all and ask for your continued prayers that we would have hearts open, minds prepared, and hands and feet ready to serve Christ each day we are here.

With love in Christ Jesus,
Jenette & Paul
